Aw cum'mon you gotta love duelling banjos.

In a duel, at least one participant dies, so yes. :D

What's the difference between a banjo and a trampoline?

You take your shoes off to jump on a trampoline.

You may well laugh, our next door neighbour has taken to learning to play the banjo, 11pm last night.

Do whatever it takes. No jury would convict.

Hear about the guy who left his banjo on the back seat of his car and the window open? Came back to find an accordian in there with it.

(Full disclosure: I play the 5 string a bit, and the mouth organ. Both seem to be generally reviled by woodworkers!)

I think they confuse it with the banjolele; banjo/ukelele cross as played by George Formby, which can certainly get on your nerves!

In fact 5 string banjo is highly regarded in folky open-mike pub session circles.
There's some lovely music for it - Appalachian etc, and it's brilliant for accompaniment with voice or other instruments. It's good in a pub as it cuts through the noise, when a guitar could hardly be heard without an amp.

To any woodworker who is confused as to what a banjo looks like, this is a banjo:

Poor old Jacob, don't take any notice mate :)
I will survive!
There haven't been any death threats (yet  )

That's not Jabob. Isn't that the profile pic of that American fella who used to moan a lot about British stuff, any British stuff, on here then left in a huff? Enjoyably I've forgotten his name.
