I do apologise, it's the 1/2" track from Rutlands that works with the Festool clamps - memory definitely not what it was, should have checked before posting!

If you inset the track in the top of the table won't that restrict you from being able to cut on it. I see you mention resting sheets on top of some dogs, but would this be stable?

It's not a problem Pete :) I'm sure I'll use it. Would the 1/2" track give more attachment options?

Hello Terry. I had planned to make one cut/channel in the table top with the circular saw, and use this as a guide for cutting any sheets in the same place. Unlike the MFT top, I've no plans on replacing mine
so thought it might be better if the sheets sat on some half inch blocks, or wooden dogs with a flat hat so to speak.

By the way Terry, to answer your question from last week, I've ordered the Record Power PT260 with the CX2000 extractor. Hopefully it should be here late next week, as soon as it turns up I'll take lots of photographs setting it up. Hopefully everything will be problem free this time!

Couldn't say, I'm sorry - I've only ever really used mine with rail clamps, flag stops etc...

In my MFT I routed a channel to take a scrap strip of MDF as an inlay (just held in place with double-sided) where the blade cuts; makes it easier to replace after repeated use, and also means you can make bevel cuts without chewing up your worktop.

=D> that's a very neat idea that I think I will have to shamelessly copy!

Me to Terry, great idea Pete thank you :D

I haven't had chance to anything on the bench this weekend, had a little job for my mum in the shape of a couple of baby clothes stands. But I did spend a few minutes last night trimming the Walko clamps to fit my 19mm dog holes. I tried sanding for a while but soon lost the will to live :) so I very carefully used the back of a chisel to scrape little pieces off. Didn't take very long and I now have a couple of snug fitting clamps. I wasn't sure these clamps would grip as well as they do as I've only used clamps that you tighten up, but these are really nice with a good strong grip.

They're higher profile (vertically speaking IYSHIM) than I was expecting.

I should have photographed them holding some 3/4" ply as they do have a higher profile, although I suppose I can always stack a couple of pieces so the clamps don't get in the way when sanding. I'll update with some measurements later.
