Blister, it's a 1984 Honda VT250F.
Mick, the wedge action from Vee is exactly my problem, without some flexibility in the rubbers there is simply no way they are gonna fit. Both our bikes are a shoe horn effort I think.
The rubbers are 20 mil deep, does that sound like what you have, a little over or undersize I could probably accomodate?
There are no flanges BTW they are simply tubes.
I'm just gonna have a look on DS and Wemoto and see if that helps.

Roy.

Mick, just looked at DS site and the NC stubs appear to be the same, subject to size of course, so I have just E-Mailed....

Help! As neither you nor anyone else can supply the carb inlet rubber tubes for a 1984 VT250 I have been looking at alternatives. It seems that the inlet rubbers for the NC30 may be suitable.
Would you be willing to give me the bore sizes and the vertical height please?

...now I wait. Fingers crossed!

Roy.

DS got back to me PDQ Mick, the engine side of the NC30 rubber is 2 mill too small, which I could probably get around, but you started a chain of thought and I got back to DS to ask about the rubbers for the VF500.
Each cylinder is 125 cc of course, as they are on the VT250. Fingers crossed again.

Good luck

As I say if you want me to pop one or more in the post you can cut, sand or drill until your heart is content and see if you can make them fit, then, having practised on an old one buy two more for real.

Let me know.

Mick

Cheers Mick. At the moment I'm waiting on DS to get back to me on the size of the VF500 rubbers, they sent me a dimensioned pic but it raised another query. It looks as though one or other can be persuaded to fit.
I'll let you know how it goes as soon as they get back to me.

Apparently Tom Silicone is not resistant to modern petrol, I thought it was till I started trying to get these rubbers.

Thank you gentlemen all for your help. It would seem that the rubbers from a Honda NC30 will do the job and I have ordered some. A special thanks to Mick for your offer but hopefully I won't have to take you up on it as hopefully it's sorted!
Fingers crossed as I wondering if I'll live long enough to ride this damn thing!

Roy.

Some motorbike restores use car cv boots or steering rack boots for this purpose.
Don't ask how how I know but I do

Not in view of the distance, now if you intend holidaying in Wales.....

Not as easy as it sounds. Up until recently I used it as a trackbike but now have something else. The problem is I have sold all the bodywork and it has a fibreglass track fairing.

NC30 plastics are like rocking horse s***.

Still goes well though.

Mick

Mick, the NC 30 carb rubbers arrived this morning, AND THEY FIT!
Apart from the OD being a little less they are perfect size, I have informed DS in case they wish to offer them as a working alternative to the non-existant VT250 units.
Thanks for your help.

Roy.
