Acker Bilk. Oh dear, that man has a lot to answer for, the hours I spent learning to play a Clarinet just so that I could play 'Stranger on the Shore!'

Roy.

Or as Acker calls it "Strangler on the Floor, me old age pension!"

DW to be fair, that was crap! That ranks down there with the very worst of the indulgent prog rock guitar solos. How about some Bon Scott era AC/DC instead?

That's more like it. There's just something about Nigel Kennedy that grates, I love Vivaldi's Four Seasons for example and have a good recording that I know note for note, saw a NK version on the telly and it was peppered with technically brilliant but musically naff violin solos and riffs. Swore at the telly and turned it over.

If that AC/DC has whetted your appetite then have a listen to Cold Hearted Man on Youtube

If you want violin then take look at this one, that's all Ed, with his board of delay loops which start empty and the loads as he goes. 8)

Decided to cease morning DJ for the present until the music copyright position settles down.

Personally I think it could be a good thing for the music industry.

The way I would like to see it go is that places like You Tube might generate non commercial performers playing music pre 1935 (copyright free) or music adapted from bygone eras.

I have lived the past years on free music broadcast by the Radio and some of us can play music by ear.

The music performers have been vastly overpaid and if it meant their demise with a turn to non commercial performances I would not mourn the financial loss some might suffer.
