so finally got round to using some of my veneered mdf,
in the alcove the corner joints are not going to be seen, but
it got me thinking.
on the first couple of units, i am going to put a face frame on the front, and
as i say, the sides and top will not be seen on the outside.
but, i have a couple of mobile storage units to make that will have sides
visible occassionally, so i would rather not use screws, and i can of course
use veneer tape, but i thought
i have both a biscuit joiner, and a mafell doweller, but i wondered
whether in these circumstances a 45 degree mitre re-inforced
with one or the other, would be strong enough, or do i need
to use mechanical fixings too.
what i am worried about obviously are the spreading loads as the units
are moved around.
for instance would the lamello metal biscuits work properly.
and be strong enough??
other wise as said before it will be face and top frames, but
as they say why not exploit what you have?
paul
