Very sadly letting go of my trusty old Meddings as I was recently unexpectedly given a newer one with a couple more bells and whistles

It could do with a bit of an aesthetic overhaul, or a full restoration for an enthusiast, it does have a couple of minor mechanical issues, but works great as it is and also comes with a couple of extras.

It came with a three phase motor which I will include (but that will need retuning to star wiring, I ran it on an inverter/VFD for a while) and it’s now got a 240v motor mounted.

Also included will be the lovely vintage switch gear I found for it, and the table extension which I found much more helpful for woodwork, where it’s mainly large-ish furniture components I would be drilling. I have replaced the original knobs with some oak ones also, at some point it acquired a moustache and a name but I’ll let the buyer decide what to do about those. Also a buffalo board ply base with tiny castors that have somehow held up fine

The main negative issue with it is that the front pulley wheel had some play in the bore (1”) when I got it, I have over the last 8 years or so shimmed it out with strips of drinks-can but they only last a few months, and it’s gotten quite bad and loose now so what it really needs is a new pulley, which I’ve seen on Amazon for £25 or so, just never got round to it

Otherwise usual bombproof engineering, heavy solid castings etc, very manual and analog, head and table both move nicely on the column, it drills holes…

£200, collection near Bristol / Yate BS37 (delivery possible at cost) - NB it is v heavy, can dismantle and help load this end

Many thanks
