Samsonia Vices

I have been trawling eBay and FB Marketplace and have seen a couple of Samonsia quick release vices. The one I am potentially interested in is No37 Perfect Vise Model J

I am assuming these are pre WW2 ? And what are the quality like on these? I am familiar with the Records vices but are there other good or better makes?
