Eek! I was adjusting the belt on my lather today, and the wing nut was a wee bitty tight. I put my thumb on the wing and gave it a shove. The motor dropped like a stone jamming the tip of my thumb in the guide.
OUCH!!!

Note to self: Make a lever of some kind to replace the wing nut.

Still managed to finish a couple of projects.
This is oak, dried in my airing cupboard over last winter.

I took the walls as thin as I dared, and finished with teak oil.

Oooch !!

Thats going to hurt , I would have gone to the hospital with the removed section they would probably stitch it back on , It looks very deep

OOOOUCH :|

Man, that's going to smart a bit for ages!
Keep it away from hot water till the new skin starts to form over it.

Nice goblet, BTW - and I like hte 'floating halo' over it in the first pic!

Nasty! I bet that made you invent some interesting phrases.

It got the usual treatment. A bit of "public lavatory blue hand towel" then wrapped liberally in insulating tape.
Missus Taz put a plaster on it when I got in from the shed, but refused to look at it.

That looks lovely. The gradual change of colour and the surrounding grain are delightful.

Ohh, the goblet is nice as well.

Times have changed at this forum.

Don't we send flowers and chocolates anymore to our casualties.
Terrible isn't it? Mind you, when its through carelessness/stupidity, sympathy is not really deserved. Had I been holding the motor with my left hand I would never have been nipped in the first place.

Every day is a school day.

Ouch! That looks painful and extremely annoying - an injured thumb reminds you of just how useful thumbs are (and of just how often you use them!). Hope it heals up soon and stops hurting. I managed to catch the knuckle of my little finger on a running belt sander earlier this year and that was painful and annoying enough - and took a surprisingly long time to heal for what I considered to be such as small injury.
