Does anyone have a makita ls1018? I got one of these last week from axminster and don't know whether i am being picky!
When the blade slows down, at the last 2/3 revs the blade moves from side to side almost as if there is a wobble washer in in it, it's not much but clearly visible. The sliding carriage is rough, at least compared to my old Dewalt. But the main thing that bothers me is on starting it seems to vibrate and makes a bit of a clatter for the first second or so. My spindle moulder had a similar starting problem which turned out to be an electric brake problem.
This is all happening straight out of the box. It's made a few straight cuts on some 3 x 2 but nothing else.
The axminster tech guy says the clattering on start up is because it's not soft start (my old DW did'nt have soft start and did not make that noise or vibrate).
He also said "some saws just need to settle in" or words to that effect.
Any thoughts??
