Without appearing rude, are you absolutely sure its a genuine Makita? I was offered a cordless drill about two years ago, colour was similar to yours (admittedly photos can be deceptive). It was only when I did not recognise the model that alarm bells started to ring. I had a short opportunity to take the drill apart and was obviously a poor copy. All the genuine stuff has type approval and spec plates (labels) and they really start to look very different when you compare them side by side with a "genuine" one. Might be wrong, but worth checking it's not a copy!
