Making Space

So with having the new shed all the gardening machinery and tools have been moved out of here, giving me room to move several machines to here.

But with those machines out of the way I don't seem to have made much new space.

Mind you I've got sort of in a muddle moving stuff

Making usable space is very difficult I find. I've changed the configuration of my shop three times thus far, and now that i'm putting in a new door i will have the room to move my bandsaw next to the door and open up more usable space.

I think i've got it figured out now but it isn't easy. I still want to find room for a sink and loo. Perhaps i'll put a urinal and sink in a cupboard or something lol... Nothing worse then tracking sawdust through the house!!! I try to hose myself off before going in but never seem to get it all.

Don't suppose you have a layout drawing do you LN, I can't quite visualise how the space is set out.

Fitting a sink in is definitely on my list, it just seems like so much work when I think about it that I have yet to get round to it.

It's 17' x 20' and the utility is 8' x 17'. There is a sink in the utility but no toilet. I did suggest to swmbo about taking the internal wall out but she started to get a little steamed up with even suggesting it.

To answer Edd, I'll try and knock up a layout but there is nothing special on how it is laid out, it's just evolved, like I moved the dewalt mitresaw and bench from the longest wall to a side wall, that caused major upheaval but in doing it allowed me to saw longer lengths by opening up the doors.

apologies for the stoopid question but whats that machine at the front of the first pic (on the black stand) - at first i thought it was a lathe but i notice you have a record lathe further down, plus the mystery machine has a winding handle on the top , which you dont generally get on lathes - so i'm confuddled.

Neither did I, that's why I bought the shed to put all Swmbo's garden tools in :lol:

Edited addendum. I overheard swmbo talking to her brother in San Francisco, she called me a little sh*t cos I wanted to knock the wall down :lol: I was quite amused cos I ain't little. :lol:

now theres an idea - as blog readers will know i've had to surrender on the having a tumble drier under my workbench front - perhaps i could win back the space by getting a shed to put swimbos bike, flymo are garden tools in :evil:

I have the tumble dryer under a workbench too, not too bad though, gets ya extra brownie points in winter cos I always put a wash on a few hours before going into the workshop then I can run the dryer and it keeps the place warm while Im in there :wink:
