Machine Wax

Simple Question, so obviously a complicated answer!

So do I need to buy a tin?

I have an old Coronet Major, blue version, and a large Axminster bandsaw

If I need a tin, what do I buy?

Axminster Machine Wax......I've had my tin for years.....A little goes a long way. I treat the bed of my lathe, planer thicknesser, bandsaws, router tables, track saw rails, base of all my routers,.....basically anything that could potentially rust or requires a minimal of friction as possible.

Yes. Liberon machine wax is excellent.
Put some machine guard in first

Any wax is better than no wax.
Same for oil in an engine.

Plus some elbow grease. What a shame there are no tins of that, it would make a fortune!!

I have spent time and money on machine wax, but fed up with bashing arthritic knuckles in my thicknesser etc., have gone down the GT85 route. It almost dries and the PTFE content is quite 'slippy'.

I found Briwax good for cast iron. In fact, probably the only use for Briwax.

Been there, done that & it only works for a few days.
The tin of Liberon Black Bison clear wax that I won in a magazine competition back in the 1980s performs better & the protection lasts for months.
