I have recently added a new post regarding an Art Deco style cabinet to my blog. It’s basically a fancy box with legs, based loosely on the work of French designer Clement Mere. It will have some fine mother-of-pearl inlay and a bunch of somewhat fussy veneering and hinge work. More info on my blog, plus a new post on the Google “search this blog” feature, which I find really helpful, and one about a new steel sculpture we hung yesterday for the first time … Check it out if you have a minute ...

FYI the link above works if you cut and paste it to your browser but I STILL can't get the thing to open in the post

Interesting ... now the words don't even show ...I can see them in the 'preview' !!! Am I an silly person????

No I don't think you are an silly person, you have just found a hole in the PHP software and fell into it.
You had an extra space between the end of the URL and the [, that stopped the post displaying and as Tom (Wizer) pointed out you need to link directly to the jpg image, not a page that displays it.
All fixed now, DaveL. :D

These URL tags seemed to be the problem. Weird

Took me a while, but it seems to be the URL tabs that are funky. Did you copy this from another forum?

I copied the link from my Pacasa album where all my blog photos live. I have clicked it to be shared. I don't know why it opens when you cut and paste it but not in the post ... ??

If you right click on the image and select copy image link/location.

The way you know if your link is right is if it ends in .jpg or .gif
