I want to send photographs to my sister from my PC, if I use winzip can she unzip the attachment in mac, if so how?

Yes, she can. Macs have built in unzipper. Just tell her to double click on the file in Finder and it will unzip to a folder with the same name as the zip file. I presume you will send the photos as jpegs and again she can see these on the Mac perfectly.
