The call came through again this afternoon, "Put the kettle on and open the side gate"...My mum had been doing the rounds looking for off cuts and picked this little lot up for £15.00.
Oak, Iroko and Sapele, there may be something different as one board looks quite yellow. I didn't measure any but the table is around two foot square, and the large piece of Sapele
must be 18" wide. When I get time this week I'll start putting it all through the P/T and organising the new timber I put up over the weekend. I reckon I'll have to make my mum
something extra besides the plant holder! :)

That is an amzing amount of wood Pete for £15 and such a variety, not only of species but also of sizes. You will be able to make a wide range of items from that lot and I shall look forard to see what transpires from it all. Well done Mum.

Hello Geoff :) I was thinking that I'd nail four legs to the big piece and say, "Look mum, I've made you a coffee table" :D She'd probably love it, but then again, she might hit me with it!

Blimey you have got some decent stuff there Pete! don't think it would be fair having my 90yr old Mum out collecting wood for me lol she used to have loads of lovely solid wood furniture but when she had to go and live in a nursing home she let my sister have the lot! and what did she do? car boot and freeads and got peanuts for it...... I have always looked after and valued my property unlike my sister who changes her home decorations every year for the latest trend (think you might have guessed i don't like my sister lol)
I'm looking forward to seeing some of that wood transformed into beautiful items! now get cracking on it 9-)
Cheers
Brian

Hello Brian :) She saw the Wobble Bowl today and I could see the wheels turning, I'll no doubt find out within a few days what she was thinking :) I'd like to do some laminated projects with this,
I laminated some Pine and Sapele over the weekend to make a ribbon/bow, and was really pleased how well it came out. Hopefully I'll have it finished for weekend.
I'd also like to make a couple or trinket boxes, something I haven't tried before. I don't seem to have or at least haven't found one thing that I prefer to make, just happy trying different things,
as long as it involves the scroll saw! :D

Three cheers for Mum, she must have good negotiating skills. =D>

Take care, and happy cutting.
