Can anyone suggest an alternative for a chipbreaker screw frow a LN number 4?
I have managed to misplace mine and need to find another.

I have sent them an email. If I were to buy it from them directly it would end up costing around $120, the screw is $5.
It will still be difficult to find an imperial screw in italy.
I suggest you amend the title of this post to include reference to the LN4 plane. This may catch the attention of LN owners who might be able give details of the screw. Can anyone suggest an alternative for a chipbreaker screw frow a LN number 4?

Agree, if a plane then from experience unique threads. Cast, usually coarse and usually imperial. UNF and UNC americanI suggest you amend the title of this post to include reference to the LN4 plane. This may catch the attention of LN owners who might be able give details of the screw.

The extra cost is tax at 22% on the item and the shipping cost, $20 for the courier to calculate the tax, or $10 if it is delivered by the post. They usually round up significantly as well.I looked up the USPS schedule - I can be your last resort if you don't find anything else but the $5 screw will end up being the following plus 7% tax:
$5 for the screw
$11.45 for shipping maine to me in the US
$17 international first class shipping
That's about $34-$35 for a screw. Princely sum, but not $120.
How do I stop your website insisting the delivery address is in the Italy? I am writing this on an Ipad in Italy but my wife is in the UK until wednesday. We have Clifton Screws in stock, I can't guarantee it will fit but someone on the forum might be able to tell you.

Thanks. It only gives you that option when you open the drop down to search, and I didn't.Just change shipping destination! View attachment 142982
Many thanksI've just checked the screws and chipbreakers from my Clifton 5.1/2, Record 4 and LN8 blade (fitted to a Stanley8). Guess what, they're all interchangeable for thread if not length.
So @Peter Sefton 's offer looks a good shout.
