Right. Well I haven't noticed it so far. There are other variables perhaps? - quality of oil, zinc etc.
The white isn't that good anyway. Modern glosses are more or less self cleaning or as easy to clean as plastic but linseed oil paints don't have the hard shiny surface and get mucky. But they do stay firmly attached to the wood - and the metal too I hope; I've done a wrought iron gate in black
