I gave Classic Hand Tools a call and they are also out of stock. They hope to have stock before the tool show at the end of the month.

Having a look at Lie-Nielsen.com suggest that buying direct would cost about £150 plus shipping and any VAT that may be applied. There doesn't seem to be much advantage to doing this.

I guess I will wait for a few weeks and then call around again.

A little parcel from Devon arrived today with my first-ever LN paring chisel (3/8 inch), and I can see why everyone raves about them. Should have bought a couple more!

Looks like Axminster still have stocks of the smaller-sized ones.

There is a separate part number to order the set without the leather chisel tool roll (will save you $50). It's something I will never use because previous post here on the site have mentioned rusting on the chisels stored in the leather.

The 1" chisel (not part of the set) was so sharp, it was sticking halfway out of the box it came in (no damage and very flat, for a new chisel).
