Take a look at the Lidl supermarket specials for this week..28th July.
Some countersinks, forstner bits etc for £1.99 and some powertools and drill press at good prices.
These are ok if you are starting up and are on a low budget............

PS the 27p soups are excellent as well!!!!!!

The set of 4 chisels at 4.99 are also very good for the price, I got a set last time they had them and was surprised by them.

Their tinned fruit and strawberry jam are also rather good

Just thought I would add......

That you can buy the drill press and belt sander that was advertised in my local paper for cheap price.

BUT...... you can also get a CLARKE drill press and belt sander from machine mart for the same price.

Yeh,
BUT...you can't get smoked sausage from Germany at Machine Mart............

Hot toast and butter running down your arm while weighing up what to do with the tools you just bought!!!!!!

Huuuuummmmmmmmm!!!!!

Mike

I bought a set of fostners last time thinking they might be OK for a few dirty rough jobs. They are far better quality than a similar set I got (at least twice the price) from axminster.

I bought about 6 packs of their sander belts as they fit my sander - so cheap you can chuck them rather than clean them.

The apricot jam is lovely :D

On Thursday they have walking shoes - these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn.

Makes you want to screeeeem!!!!

All of bloody Scotland must have read my thread and gone down to the store.
When I arrived.....drills and c/sks and forstners and drill press and belt sanders all sold out!!!!!

Sat here with 3 crumpets, 1/2 in thick in butter, jam on top..........
well there is always next year???

Mike

The quick action clamps seem a good buy to me as well, at £1.99 for two. In screwfix the same clamp is around £4 each.

Ok so you know that they had the clamps in store......but I have so many it was one item I didn't need.

On another subject....why can't this forum make posting photos user (***** ) friendly.....???
I have given up with photo bucket..for an old fart it's too difficult.

Just drinking some Lidl coffee with choccie biscuits.......mmmmm.....
