Got a lot of scribing to do and under my only buy good tools rule it had to be a Festool.

Top tip, and this will speed up any scribing method but takes practice, cut from the back following the scribe line on the front.
advantages are
1/ you cannot damage the face
2/ no jigsaw in the way to obscure line

takes practice but worth mastering.

Top tip number 2

don't drop festool, they may be great but they don't like being dropped unlike Makita and dewalt which could be dropped all day long.

As mentioned before, any jigsaw is only as good as it's blade,

I dont know if I would agree with that I used a few of the Dewalt jigsaws (never owned one) with Bosch blades fitted and you still have to turn the saw almost sideways to keep it going in a straight line.

I have always bought Bosch jigsaws myself and cannot fault them even though that Carvex looks nice with all its widget's and gizmo's I just couldnt justify £450 quid for the full set.

I've had a different experience with the bosch's, we had a couple of the GST60's (iirc) and the bases buckled really easily, and they weren't badly abused

Thanks for that Doc, I'll try it!

Oh, I don't agree on build quality and dropability. I have amonst others a Festool ETS125 sander which is brilliant and I could use this all day with getting VWF (tingles in the fingers). I have dropped this 3 times off ladders from about 10' and it just bounces but no damage other than a scrape.

I was using this for windows and someone else had a cheapo B & Q palm type sander, they had to stop using theirs after 1/2 hour because of the vibes. The ETS 125 just keeps going without vibes, I don't know how they do it but its worth the money just for that.
