I've got some old 'pine type' timber knocked up into picture frames for a very choosey client (yes - her ).
Despite its age (over 15 years) the machining appears to have 'woken up' the knots and other associated stickiness and I'm concerned about the potential for bleed through.
Now I know that knotting solution would be the best idea but with a clear finish it would show through if not applied very carefully.
What's the best way to seal the knots and blemishes and still allow a clear finish (danish, oil varnish etc.)?
