Thanks for the response (my actual name is Paul, not as interesting as Genghis obviously). I've had a look at your sled, would it perform the same job as a Compound Mitre saw or would this be more accurate (I've just bought the Bosch 12 inch saw from axminster) ?

Paul, I used the Axminster AWS10 mitre saw for a couple of years with lots of clamps when doing my mitred corner boxes. Sometimes the boxes finished up 2 inches shorter than intended because of recuts needed.
The problem is that the blade angle used to pull the timber slightly unless everything was held down by 100 tons per square inch.

But I got away with it, so enjoy the Axminster.
