Nice job brad. What worktops are they going to have?

Whats the reason for the handle line on the tall units not being in line?

cheers

That drawer in drawer idea is intriguing, can't work out if I like it or it looks dysfunctional. What's it like to use Brad?

Apparantly every piece is individually moulded from an electronic template - hence the long lead time.

Don't start!

The handles were in line. The client chose a fridge freezer with a tiny freezer section at the bottom - 550 mm or so. As agreed we raised the whole thing up inside the cabinet so that the door line was level across the four tall units.

Unfortunately this meant that wifey couldn't reach the top shelf of the fridge section without standing on a stool. I tried to sell her a nice stool but to no avail, so function won out over form and we had to drop the level of the fridge freezer by a few inches. We did the same with the oven in the interests of symmetry. The ball-ache was that I had to make two new doors - after I had got the grain running nicely across all four tall units as well!

The carcasses were all bought in but custom-built in MFC to our spec and sizes. We spent a week making all the doors, drawers, end panels etc and subbed out the installation work with Phil and I making regular visits to check on progress and to make refinements.

I reckon that between the two of us, including all design and organisational work, we spent about three weeks on this kitchen. It has proved a very profitable use of our time and a good business model for any future kitchens we do.

I'm pleased with this job - the photos don't do it justice at all. Once the worktops are in I'm going to get this and a couple of other kitchens I've done recently professionally photographed for our new kitchen company website and brochure.

Cheers
Brad

PS Everyone has told me that getting good reliable fitters is difficult. Well, we now have two excellent ones - our very own Karl and a young lad called Charlie who we tried out on this job.

I cannot express how delighted I am that I will hopefully never have to fit a kitchen again! :D

i saw that glass worktop company at the ecobuild exhibition last year and it looks really good.

cheers
