I do intend to fit the flexi pipe to both 100mm (temp) down to 50mm outlets what sort of extractor are you using, :?: mine as i mentioned is a DX5000 Twin motor which from the other machine it's connected to is doing an excellent job wont know till at least Wednesday how good it will be on the band saw though which for now will be a (temp) connection via the 50 mm pipes till i purchase a new saw then it will be transferred to the 100mm permanent . (any connection is better than non)

thanks for the tip on the axminster blades ,other have mentioned this as well , seeing dragon have gone down this is going to cause a problem when member hear what to start replacing blades???

Hi all

the latest is , followed the wood bloke and Waka advice on
band saw blades .

ordered the m42 special today 14 thou from axminster one is 1/2" 6-10 tspi variable the other tony suggested was 3/4" 3 tspi also M42 should arrive next week by then band saw will be fully installed and ready and waiting for new blades .hc :lol: :lol:

P's also heard today new parts for the planer will arrive Wednesday so i can complete that as well , good o

I have the 5300 variant, which is very similar. To improve dust collection I clip a ~3" length of 2x4" rectangular kitchen extractor duct over the lower guide & blade (outside the case). The ducting is split and trimmed at the rear to clear the rear guide, and allow table to tilt.

There is very little clearance in the 6mm plate which supports guides/table adjust etc, when fitting larger blades; this also restricts airflow into lower case. Mine is enlarged by 60% (in non strucural area) which ensures most of the dust inside the 2x4 duct is sucked away.
