Jig day

I looking for advice how to fix the log to a bandsaw jig as I am new to wood working any advice will be appreciated.

I have had a quick look a lot of them screw through the plywood in to the log wood that be ok.ty for your reply

Be cateful here as if you try and take a slice not near the centre then the force is unsupported and it relies on your screws "holding".

Never done it but like all cutting in woodwork you need it to sit steady so I suggest you use a drawknife to put a flat on it.

+1 for getting a flat surface first
My preferred way is short rag bolts through the upright ply into the log, take a cut to flatten one side then turn it 90° onto the flat surface and refix.
Taking a bit of time to work out the best orientation to cut the log is always worthwhile

Tris has had a bit of a phonetic breakdown lol.
To clarify they are lag not rag bolts, American name and it’s a misnomer as they have a screw thread not a bolt thread, in this country they are more commonly known as Coach screws - they have a hex head, different again from Coach bolts which have a domed head with a short square shaft underneath which is hammered into timber preventing the bolt from turning.
