Would you be concerned if three adults stood in a circle chatting?

I'd certainly want to know how they got into my workshop and what they thought they were doing there :lol:

Seriously though, you're probably right its not as bad a weight as it sounds. The issue may be more getting it in there, for which I have 2 choices;

a) Up the stairs - did this with my planer and don't fancy it again
b) Through a floor hatch using a lifting beam limited to 500lb (226KG)

I'm in no rush, so plenty if time to think about the right method.

Cheers, Ed

went to a show last year and looked at the jet stuff, seemed quite solid well made and thought out..... thats my 2p worth anyways

Most things come apart, if you are prepared to put them back together again!

My bandsaw got stripped down to the frame to get it into my cellar workshop, I'm dreading ever moving.

Why are you getting rid of the Kity ed?

Mainly because of power and capacity. I want something bigger. The Kity is a great machine and has served me well for 8 years so I would be loathe to part with it, but it does have limitations.

The issue seems to be that to get something that moves me on enough I'm looking at spending about £1500, although this Jet got me thinking it could be less. I'd love a Felder (or Hammer), but the cost and maybe weight are a problem.

I'm in no particular rush, so I'll carry on weighing up the market for a bit.

Cheers, Ed

Could you not strengthen the floor? Did Mike work out the maximum weight you can take? I wouldn't want to guess.
