I went to this as well, and a couple of the talks/workshops. Made my own chopsticks (surprisingly fulfilling) and realised that I *can* in fact use a plane, my problem all these years probably having been that I haven't ever set one up properly and/or sharpened it correctly. Or haven't spent hundreds on a nice Japanese one. On reflection that must be it. And the smell of Hinoki cypress shavings is gorgeous...

But some things are likely always to be beyond my reach. I mean, this joint. I would love to, one day, but also WHY
