Sorry if this has been posted before, but it is just so good to see someone using handtools to produce the tumbridgeware type decoration, I've occasionally handled and had a good look at these and couldn't decide if its reallyreally good printing or the real thing:

I notice two digits on left hand may have previously been victim of a tablesaw argument, if so I'm surprised to see he hasn't a handle on the holddowns he employs :|

How sharp is his plane to make that veneer, is there some subtle skewing/angling or is it slightly off horizontal ?

I tried to produce some laminated chopping boards a few years ago with partial success, (sadly none of my friends will use them as intended and they sit on display rather than be put to work). I decided it required more exacting precision and sharpness. I see all of that in his work, that workshops machinery must be so finely set.

I looks like to me the boxes and the decorative veneers were made almost completely made with machines and power tools, the only hand tools used in the video were a plane to smooth off the sticks and for the final "shaving".
