I used to smoke 40 a day and when I tried patches - I smoked on top. The 1st smoke in the morning had such a rush it was unreal!

Stopped with tablets in the end. Advice was to take the pills (1 a day for the 1st few days - then 2 a day) and carry on smoking. After the 1st week or so - the nbr of cigs was drastically reduced, as for me the pills rapidly brought back the sense of taste. And once that comes back - there's no way you can carry on smoking. Must have stopped in 1.5 weeks.

Almost 9.5 yrs now.

yeh i don't think they work completely but they do take the edge off. What I have found is that 90% of the time it's easy, the other 10% is really really hard :x

Go for it mate =D> In november it will be 2 years since I gave up and I don't regret one minute of it. You can get patches, tablets and various other things, but the help I received did not come from my doctor or chemist, it came from my wife and members of this forum whos, encouragement was vital.

Yes mike I do agree, cheers chaps. The kids have been very supportive and although supportive words have left my wifes mouth what she is really thinking is "I'll belive it when I see it" She thinks I'm daft and that I can't read her like a book after all these years

Anyway still holding out :D :D
