Yes very frustrating, my Italian is non existant unlike Clauds English.

Been lurking there for a while now; seem very keen on their combi planes but alas I'm confined to babelfish to give me a hint as to the gist. I'm not sure it does a terribly good job... :?

Cheers, Alf

If you want to comment Alf send me the link and I will translate with pleasure.
My Skill in hand tool(well any tool) maintenance is pedestrian, but to my eye they look as if they could use some help.

Having said that look at this elderly gentlemans collection.

Do woodworkers look the same all over the world.

Hmm, perhaps I need to start with "what's the Italian for collector?"

Thanks for the offer, Dom - not sure I can justify the time participating in yet another forum though.

Cheers, Alf

Hi Dom,

Have put it on my 'favorites' - long ago I once had a smattering of Italien which I've subsequently lost (And the beautiful Italien girlfriend of that time also :( )

Anyway, will pop in occassionaly. Do they have your sense of humour??

Hi Losos,

Italian sense of humour tends to be somewhat cruder, jokes in particular.
What I have noticed is that the camaraderie, the breadth of knowledge and general bonhomie(and lady) is exactly as it is here.
I truly believe that people who work with wood are a cut above.

Stands back and waits for the flying bricks

Dom, it must have been a while since you were on a big shop floor, full of Herberts, effing and blinding, with half a brain between them, No stress what so ever, more like the missing link, than a cut above, oh happy days.
Half the places I worked at, there was so much inbreeding that most had curly teeth.
