I have the set of 6 kirschen and I rate them, in daily use in a joinery workshop. They take and hold a very good edge and will take a blow from a hammer no problem. Might not be ideal for dovetailing but can't confirm this as we have a multi head dovetailing machine!

I’ve been very impressed with the Naren cabinet makers jobbies I bought a few years ago. As has been pointed out they needed a bit of fettling but nice sorted are fine. It was the handles that drew them to me. They just felt right in my big fat hands. I do have some boxwood handled Marples that I bought in the early seventies I think, that I save for finer joints.
