Is wood classed as a 'solid fuel'?

Building Regs are very specific on fires/flues/hearths etc for oil and gas fired appliances and also solid fuel. Reading the documentation suggests that they are using the term 'solid fuel' as in lumps of coal etc.

No mention of wood anywhere that I can find.

Any ideas? Thanks
