I run my own system with all cookies blocked, only allow specific cookies from specific websites. (banking etc.)
double click is the worst one and should be regarded as a virus. You could individually block websites and cookies. might want to look to see what cookies you have and block a few of them (then remove the original).
More invasive are the new wave of active cookies that haunt your flashplayer directories, there are specific blockers for them. I allow them to install but they are automatically delete when I shut down.
