Don't be silly. You need a honing guide, it's the obvious answer.
I suggest attaching it to this (the Veritas MK. 2001):



30 times back, forth on the pavement. Then drive it to Wales for the final hone on a slate bed, around 6,000G.

That wouldn't work! The blade would be covering the windscreen as you drove to Wales!

(It would plane off the road surface nicely, though!)
 
Oh I thought this was a tread about the smallest chinaman on earth......... and someone wanting to hire a small enough worker that can be sent down to clean out debris from the bottom of a concrete mould;)

...and if it was raining, would there be a danger of aquaplaning??
