I'm so happy I have to share...

I OWN MY FIRST LATHE!!!!

I've been playing on a borrowed lathe from my neighbour for around 5 months now, and today it has officially been bought from him for me!

It's only a little sip 01492 but it's MINE and I love it!

It's a great feeling isn't it? Enjoy it and remember that even though it is 'only a Sip' it is still capable of making masterpieces.

Great to hear of someone else enjoying the pleasure of creating, just remember the quality of the output comes from you, and it may only be a little SIP but it spins the wood fine and allows you to supply the; rapidly developing by the looks of it, hand-tool co-ordination skills that provide the pleasure of a new creation.

It also helps if you have a log burning stove - - - - to conceal all the failures !

Thanks everyone for such kind and encouraging words, and for sharing my happiness and excitement.

My setup is far from ideal (a tiny shed, with no power, poor lighting, leaks like a sieve, and a plastic stand that wobbles for the lathe(at the wrong height)) so I've probably got loads of bad habits already.... bit I figure if I can turn some nice things now, when I build my workshop, I'll just get better and better.
