The thing is you can now get the Kindle application for any device as far as I can see....simply because the lion's share of the money is made from the "sale" of the books.
sadly not for Linux, unless you can tell me otherwise.

I looked at a Kindle or similar in the shops and tried reading something. Question. Is it mandatory to only have a reading age of three? Having a page with only about four or five lines on a page had me reaching for my paperback!

Just install the Amazon Cloud Reader on Linux (works perfectly) and read any book you have in your archive. :)

You need to set the font smaller! The Kindle will display pages just about the same as a paperback book and is much more convenient to read not having to fight to keep the page open.

There's a choice of font sizes, types of font and the spacing between lines - set to your preference.

My ears are analogue.

   Yes that's why those Police radio operators (And the military / air traffic control bods) were so good. They could decipher a message so far down in the 'noise' that to most people it was just that - noise.

Since they were only using voice they could use VHF bands which meant much greater distances between base stations so they both saved a huge amount of money and (with a bit of experience) could still communicate when the signal was virtually non existant  clever stuff eh :?:

cheers, I just did that but I can't make it download & save anything so it's no use for off ilne reading. EDIT: that was with Firefox, Chrome works fine, I guess it;s something to do with my security settings in Firefox
