Hi,
In my workshop build (here https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/forums/first-workshop-build-t60020.html, I installed water-resistant T&G chipboard flooring, and applied 3 coats of floor varnish for further protection against staining etc. Unfortunately, after a few months of wear and the inevitable buildup of fine dust, this has resulted in something more like an ice-rink than a workshop floor. Even when I sweep and vacuum it thoroughly, its still dangerously slippy. Admittedly, even though its my first workshop, I didn't give enough thought to floor preparation - I just assumed a finish for domestic flooring would be OK.
Is there a treatment to address this? One suggestion I found involved revarnishing, spreading sand while still wet, brushing off the excess when dry, then a second coat to fix the sand, giving a rough surface. I don't fancy that, as I've now installed machines, benches etc.
Regards,
Drew
