hi

I have a Jet JBOS-5 Oscillating Spindle Sander and i want to connect it to a 100mm dust extraction system?

the issue is that axminster have a part that takes it from 100mm to 50mm

problem is that its exactly the same size..... it needs to be 100 to 52mm

has anyone come across this and solved it?

thanks

adrian

Are you using 100mm flexible hose? What i do for connecting 100mm hose to the machines is to use a toilet pan connector - unused is better.

Staight

or 90 degree

Depending on layout. The black rubber is removed and the 100mm hose fits nicely on the pipe, a hose clamp is a good idea though. Then the whole thing is just a push fit onto any machine with a 100mm outlet. The gasket forms a good airtight seal. :)

I just measured the outlet on my JBOS-5, and it's a tad under 51mm O/D. I use a black plastic adaptor which looks like the Axminster 'Hose Reducer 100mm O/D to 50mm O/D' (I can't be sure, but I can't imagine I got it from anywhere else). Not sure that helps you much !

Hi

Thanks for your input

I called axminster who said its a common issue which they do not have an answer for

So I ordered a car part which is essentially a thick rubber hose with a slightly larger diameter and two jubilee clips

It's firmer and should solve my issue

I'll post a picture when it arrives

Thanks

Adrian
