Here in Gloucester petrol is down to £1.03 a litre at the local Esso. It's probably cheaper at a supermarket but I'd use more getting there than I'd save .
Indeed, though presumably, as fuel duty and VAT is around 75% of the cost of fuel, and there's been a 20% reduction in fuel prices, there will be a large shortfall in the amount of expected tax (which raised £26bn in 2012/13)... someone may have to put taxes up in Mayphil.p":3cqznnnh said:Interesting to hear so many commentators (inc. govt. ones) saying the price drop is a welcome boost to the economy - which makes you wonder why the govt. tax it so highly in the first place.
