Emelda Marcos in Waterstone's is the image that springs to mind.

Geppeto - I think it means She Who Must Be Obeyed - From a character in a television sit-com but I can't remember which one having not been in UK for many years.

Just got back from Harrogate. My beloved insisted that she bought me a medium shoulder plane from the Brimarc stand (still none in stock!!!). As I was chatting to Alan on the Scheppach stand I was admiring the new mortiser - get one if you want one my beloved says - so I did. I'll be picking it up next week. Of course there was the "you can never have cramps" stand which I had to visit and then a nice book to complete a very enjoyable morning out.

It was Rumpole of the Bailey by John Mortimer.

HID is 'Er indoors, the Mrs Arthur Daley that viewers never saw in Minder.

When we moved in, there was space for a garage.
So i built one on the premise that my good lady good
park her car in it and we'd have storage for the garden
stuff.
As the boxes of housey gear found their way indoors, i
immediately filled these spaces with tools. When all the
house boxes were gone, i still had a full garage.
I continually grumbled about the lack of space, due to
the incumberance of the bikes, garden tools, etc on my
blossoming workshop.
Then one day, i said a friend of mine was selling a 'nearly
new' shed, at a good price, this would solve our problem,
i.e. my good lady could have her own shed down the bottom
of the garden.
So, my wife now has her own space :D ( i even painted her name
on the inside of the door). :D :D
Ok, it's full to the brim with kids bikes, bbq, mowers, chairs.......
...etc and it cost me a few notes of the realm, :( (it was new, not
from a friend )
There's nowhere to park her car
But hey......
i do have a reasonable size w/s, i'll just have to grin
and bear it  :D :D

TX

i now have a whole garage/workshop to myself :D

Nice one TX
I did a similar thing......
We have a double garage-when I took up woodworking I decided I would park my car outside to allow me a workshop. A year or so later and its summer. I was making a large project so said to the wife "do you mind parking outside as its summer to allow me more room to finish your project" Of course said She. Sucker!!! 8)
3 years later and its all mine-still! And since the Xcaliber table-saw there is NO GOING BACK! HA!
Mind you, my "to do" list is huge...................
regards
Philly :D
