Hi all....

So... i have a 'friend' who has a hotmail account but cant remember her password. No worries as you don't need to enter it when using an iphone as it just loads up, as most applications are in an 'open' state (as i understand)

She's tried many many times to access her hotmail account via her laptop, but as she cant remember her password it tends to stop there (it does ask security questions which she just cant remember the answers to).

So my question is.... is it possible to somehow display your chosen password in the iphone settings, so that she can then use it to log onto her hotmail account via her laptop...?

Cheers all you buffs (homer)

Nick

or..... :?:

is it possible to be able to change your hotmail password on an iphone so that you can then go and use it on your laptop..?

Not possible to access the password on the iPhone as it doesn't display. Can't be changed in the mail app either. Only by logging into hotmail, for which you will need the password.

Doesn't it give you an option to send a link to another email account? I seem to get a similar problem every month asking for security information that I have no idea about, but I get round it by sending a link to my wife's account. Dunno what they're playing at, but it's a load of hassle!

Correct. You can specify an alternative email address BUT after doing this, you have to then wait 30 days before you can progress things.

It still let's you in, but in 30 days the same thing will happen and it doesn't explain how to progress things.

If you go to the hotmail website (now rebranded as Outlook by Microsoft) on the login page there's a "can't access your account" link that takes you straight to another page with "I forgot my password" as the top option.
