Horse Chestnut

Went to a rally last weekend and came into possession of this chestnut(originally one length had to cut it to fit into car)approximate size 6" x 5" one is 53" and the other 45"long. Me thinks a couple of deep vases to start with what do you think

Still very wet. I watched as they used a steam engine and a old belt driven saw cut it up from logs

Does it look a bit dark for Horse Chestnut. My experience is that Horse Chestnut is almost white.

The photo shows it darker than what it is. The chap I got it off informed me that is what it is and he is a Tree surgeon also the bark is a match for horse chestnut(I'm no expert on the matter so have to rely on other peoples opinions)

I love that sort of rig, I have stood for hours watching boards produced from the butts. :roll:
