Quite fancy having a go at making a few small hollow forms, maybe to a maximum depth of about 100-150mm. I was thinking about a straight, multi-tip tool for starters for about £20-30.

Any advice/recommendations would be very helpful. :D

Mornin' Paul.

If you are just tossing the idea around at the moment, you would be better making your own tools for a couple of quid. Google 'Oland tool' and have a look at them, and if you don't have the engineering tools or skills to tap the threads you can glue the tips in with superglue. I still use the ones I made years ago. Although I have since bought some hollowing tools, Sorby & Hamlet.

Or a good all-round starter IMO is a Sorby Multi-Tip which comes in two sizes, but they are expensive. Although you are getting two tools in one.

hello i echo Tam's comments- i have made a few small tools, all the metal to make them from was bought from ashley isle at a show- the only other advice i would offer is by a center drill (i think there called that??) its like a drill bit but only used to start the hole off- very usefull on a round bar.
