I have worked out why I like the books much more however - the humour. TP books have me snorting into my coffee and laughing out loud on occassion

His die hard fans seem to think he's some kind of great philosopher/thinker/social commentator/parodist though.

Like you, I just like the jokes.

But just like Douglas Adams, the jokes get less good and less frequent as the books go on...

And TP has done a lot of books.
