I'm not familiar with this make and saw a Power saw for sale.

Anyone know what other make would be comparable?

Renamed Metabo stuff made in China/japan/malaysia/germany and other places., Metabo / Hitachi all make decent stuff.

goodness knows why Hitachi changed the name to Hikoki.

a decision by KoKi holdings the parent Co I believe.

Possibly at the Upper Management Focus Group meeting they put the left leg in, the left leg out. In, out, in, out. Then they shook it all about.

Thank you all.

I used to be a fan of Hitachi, always got good service.

Hitachi make good gear and have for decades. Their corded circ saws had a good reputation and their 18V cordless saw was arguably the best on the market when they launched it.
Their styling is a bit funky, that's all.
If I remember the story, Hitachi power tools were bought by the same private company that bought Metabo hence some of the recent branding changes especially in the USA but the product ranges are still largely distinct.

And didn't Metabo buy Elektra Beckum?

And Black and Decker bought DeWalt, who bought Elu?
I think they're probably all owned by JCB or Rolson or Silverline now...

And didn't Metabo buy Elektra Beckum?
Yep - I was suddenly employed by Metabo

And Black and Decker bought DeWalt, who bought Elu?
Yep I started selling Dewalt instead of Elu

Anyone see a pattern? haha best not employ me unless you want your brand changed ;)

It's a running joke with the people I know - 'brand killer' I'm called haha
