No sorry I should have said it is metal lathes i use and of course metal millingWelcome, I assume wood lathe work but do you have a metal lathe?
No problem , I have a South Bend metal lathe made in the USA. Got it on a good deal with alot of tooling. It has become very handy. No sorry I should have said it is metal lathes i use and of course metal milling
That helps if you get tooling in with it , some buy a machine and not realise they are going to spend probably more on tooling than they paid for the machineNo problem , I have a South Bend metal lathe made in the USA. Got it on a good deal with alot of tooling. It has become very handy.

What type of lathe and mill and what do you make.
I have a Colchester Student 1800 metal lathe and a Schaublin 13 mill and do a mixture of wood and mostly stainless steel.
Aye it was a training base when it opened ,then the navy had HMS Fulmer there then it was handed back to the RAF in the early 70's , a very different place now, I think it's the only operational base left in Scotland now ,i remember standing at the edge of the runway when a Buccaneer crashed ! pilot ejected and the plane went bangWelcome to the forum @kilmolymock .
I used to live in Burghead in the 50's when my old fella worked as a spark at the navel base/RAF ?
Great times
Fred
Thanks for the update. We used to live on the base then moved to a bungalow on Mr Forsyths farm right opposite the Naval base. We had a great time working on the farm as kids and fishing in the river Lossie at the back of the property.
