Having finally bid farewell to the world of paid employment, I`m looking forward to spending more time in my workshop, especially at the lathe, so I`d just like to say Hi! to everyone on this great forum. I`ve been lurking for a while now - what a great source of information and inspiration! Hope I can make some useful contributions too.

to the forum Ian, If you would care to fill us in on your setup and turnings etc. it will give others some guidance on how to respond to any queries you might have.

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the forums.

Great to see another Scot on here, and one who's a lot more local to me than most.

Enjoy your time here and don't be shy about posting your work.

Aw the best,

Lee.

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the forum, I am a newbie too and have found the advice and support very helpful.

Hope to see some of your work on the forum too.

Steve

Hi Ian, welcome to the club.
Now you have the status of a retired man, and discover (just like me),
that 24 hour a day is not enough.
Have fun.

Thankyou all for the warm welcome!
I`ve been turning now for a year or two (off and on-other stuff often seems to creep to the top of the priority list).
I`ve been doing the usual bowls and whatnot up until now. I`ll try and figure out how to post one or two pics.
Now that I have the time, I`m looking to up the quantity and (hopefully) quality of what I can produce. We`ll see how it goes!
