I am almost too embarassed to tell this tale but i need some advice.

After building my workbench and putting on removable wheels I found I had enough space for a bandsaw. So i purchased one from ebay. It is the same (identical to a perform ccvvb (the bigger florr standing model)). I picked it up a week ago but i decided not to do anything in a rush and i ordered a new blade, which arrived yesterday morning.
I finished work at 4pm and set to work to set up the saw. Following advice from this forum and the web i set up the saw. I lubricated all locations removed built up dust etc and religned all components. This all went well!
Switched on the saw and fantastic, cuts like a dream i cut cautiously at first and then progressed to a four inch piece of wood producing 2mm veneers perfectly. I then cut the face for my vice in beech great (leaving the guard at four inch) i walked across the floor to check the size with the saw running (embarassing i know and foolish).
BANG BANG
The offcut of beech has walked on the table to the blade jammed up (4inch by 1inch piece) between the guard and the zero clerance plate shattering the zero clearance plate and chipping a bearing.
I have ofcourse turned the saw off. At this point i am close to tears, but it got worse. I religned all the bearings and other settings back to how they were and set the saw off again.
AAAAAARGGGGHHHHH
The blade is now tracking back and forth on the wheel like a mad thing. WHAT HAVE I DONE??????
I changed the tracking bar which was slightly bent but this only tilts the wheel back and forth. The problem is still there i can only assume i have bent the axle/bearing is this possible??
Is it the top wheel or the bottom wheel, tracking is the top wheel. I cannot detact the wheel being out but i probably wouldn't be able to tell.
What do i do??
Can i replace these bits or is it the bandsaw in the bin??
I cannot believe i have been this stupid i have only had 20minutes use!!!
The tyre is ok, bearings ok apart from one side bearing. Any advice will more than greatfully recieved please help me!!!
Feeling very, very, very stupid.

Corset,

I think you may have kinked your nice new blade. :x But you need to check the wheels as well.
I suggest, with it unplugged from the mains, you take the blade off.

Take a look at the blade, if its kicking as much as you say you may find that when its off the machine there is a noticeable kink in it, do you have a spare to try, the on that was on it when you collected the saw?

The bearings should run quiet when you turn the wheels by hand, check for play in then, but remember that the top axle is on an adjustable pivot so it’s harder to check.
If the bearings are OK, take a length of batten, hold it against the back of the wheel case and mark on it the crown of the tyre, then rotate the wheel by hand and check if the mark stays in line with the crown, if it does the wheel is not bent. Do this for both wheels.

OK so report back with your findings and we will have a go at sorting it out. :-k

The bearings are running quiet. I have checked this. I did not think it was possible to kink the blade. I will get to the workshop tommorow and try your test. I have a spare blade so i will test it first thing. Thankyou for your quick response i am finding this a bit traumatic.

Have you never pushed to hard with a junior hacksaw and kinked the blade? Its just the same and I have done that more times than I care to mention.

When things start getting like that in the shop, I retreat to the kitchen, get a large cup of coffee and then head for the computer, so have you got your coffee?

I am drinking something slightly stiffer than coffee at prsent. Cheers though i am ready for a rematch tommorow.

I have been back to the workshop this morning before work. I changed the blade and lo and behold the wobbling stops. Fantastic.
I will get a new blade and a new bearing and I will be back in business.
Thankyou so much for your help i would have done something silly like get a new axle.
