On my boat I have a Morse log/coal burning stove, on the top there is a raised metal ring that the flue goes into. The problem is that this has become detached from the top of the stove.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to use to stick this back on again bearing inmind the temperatutr that the stoves gets up too.

All thoughts appreciated.

I think the only way to 'stick' it back is with a welding set, probably not what you wanted to hear.
You might be able to repair the stove without welding it if you could get hold of a new ring with a flange on it. This would need holes drilled though the flange and the top of the stove to match. You then bolt the new fitting on with fire cement in the joint to seal it. You would need good bolts for this joint.

in my diverse career i once was a techie for furnace linings.
worked for AP Green which i think is now part of morgan crucible
or similar who might actually recently have been taken over.
anyway there are a number of furnace repair cements that
you can even instal at working temp.

always think it is safer to instal after the stove has cooled, but i would
suggest a google for a furnace repair suppliers near you might work.

the other thing actually might well be a coal fired fireplace/ boiler supplier
what do they use on aga's???

the big worry must be if the flange has come loose, not the pipe, then
will correct combustion occur all the time, or are you likely to poison
yourself with incomplete combustion gases?

be careful, but for sure if there is high temp paint, then there is
a high temp cement designed to do just what you need.
actually try a commercial boiler supply shop. not retail, but
the heavy duty ones.

Do you mean Morse or Morso? Morso are a well respected still going concern. So, a call to your local fireplace shop might point you in the right direction of somebody who can repair it.

just a thought
