Heya, joining as this year we're diving into the small bussness side of things and will hopefully be acquiring new (old) tools, but more importantly build knowledge and experience.
My partner and I decided to buy a self built CNC from mycncuk, based on the reconmendation of a good friend who built his own. Well, it ended up working flawlessly when finally setup in our workshop and we've been busy using it.

I'm going to be on the lookout for a thicknesser. Maybe planer thicknesser combo. Currently using the CNC to re-surface timber. Works, but not fastest or easiest for longer stock.
Table saw and saw bench. Currently ripping with a circular saw and track rails.
Router table. Sometimes adding chamfers with the CNC. Other times just manually with an adjustable chamfer plane.
And where would I be if I didn't need a ton more clamps.

Thanks,

I won’t even pretend to understand cnc machines as it’s not for me but I will say welcome to ukw and good luck with your venture 🤗🤗🤗
Thanks mate. Year, will definetly tickle my brain if it ever breaks down on me hah. I've also used it to compliment more tradional-esque joinery. It's got an overhang, so I can park some larger posts next to it and mill mortises and tenons. May not save much time on tenons tbh, but can definetly speed up mortices and will be perfect (except round corners). Was quite useful for some angled lap joints and castle joints. But to do more of that, I need to start with dimensionally accurate lumber, hence thicknesser is #1 on my wishlist.

I have a Titan thicknesser/planner that has been very good
Yea really got my head in a twist if I should buy something cheap that will do the job or be... snobby. I just missed a bargain for a Dewalt 1150 and an Axminster thicknesser for around £130-£250 nearby.
I've seen the review of the titan before, are all combi planer/thicknessers a little painful to switch modes over?
Does yours suffer from snipe?
Cheers
